Too few beds will cause happiness to drop. In order to accommodate settlers, each settlement needs to have a number of beds that are equal to or greater than the number of current inhabitants. They can be found in settlements, pre- War buildings, and in makeshift shelters throughout the Commonwealth. all of the settlers began to assign themselves to beds that they weren't using before.Beds come in a range of styles, from the basic military cot, narrow single beds with post headboards to the standard sized bed with a mattress. Now it seems to be fixed! Like night and day. I had given up on this settlement and left it hovering in the mid 60s. So try one at a time, and make sure the rug is under the bed you actually picked up, and you should be able to remove them all.ĮDIT: Also, a few seconds after getting rid of all the beds, Abernathy's happiness immediately began to raise (up arrow). The rug trick will probably only remove the bed you actually had selected by holding E. It can be hard because the game forces you to pick up multiple at a time. I was able to get rid of all of the existing beds using the rug. I just went over to Abernathy and tried this. I was able to scrap the bed in screenshot #2 but of course it did no good when you still have 3 other beds that are unsheltered shown in the third screenshot. Originally posted by Bored Peon:Tried the rug trick at Abernathy Farm it didnt work. Clair Belle remains stuck at the top, she will not move form the start position even if the trough is moved. On the bright side I got a whole herd of 29 brahmin. Least I might be able to prevent someone else form wasting time trying to shelter the stupid beds. The 12 bonus happiness comes from the stores, dogs, and cats. Since the -20 unsheltered beds applies the max happiness is for meeting basic needs is 60 instead of the normal 80 happiness. Yet the -20 penalty still applies giving me a max of 72 happiness. Since I am playing survival there is no console command to scrap the beds.Īs you can see the beds are definitely "sheltered" by floor coverage. So I got bored and decided to see if I could get rid of the -20 happiness penalty for the 3 unscrapable unsheltered beds at Abernathy Farm by building roofs over them.
